About Our Mission
Harvest Horizons will foster food security in the Crestone, Colorado community by ensuring robust food storage, value-added processing, heirloom seed and organic food production and adaptable resilience strategies. Harvest Horizons will empower residents through collaborative efforts and educational programs, equipping them with the knowledge and skills needed for regenerative food production and emergency preparedness. Harvest Horizons’ main goal is to secure a healthy and stable future for the Crestone community.


Meet Our Co-Founders
David Hill

Co-Founder, President
David has worked professionally in agriculture and food delivery systems for over 40 years. David’s main focus has been on the development of local food systems through regenerative agricultural methods. He has implemented various methods of soil regeneration to create healthy plants and optimize food production, and has a strong passion for connecting the public to their food sources. David has diverse experience in the creation, development and successful implementation of value-added projects. David has experience and managerial competencies with crop production, specifically with industrial hemp, and working with farmers in the milling, processing, manufacturing and transportation logistics aspects of their businesses.

Bryon Pike

Co-Founder, Vice President
Raised on a farm in the Midwest, Bryon has been active as a homesteader and gardener throughout his life. He has been growing in high altitude climates for over 25 years, and has experience initiating both greenhouse grow systems, and outdoor small-scale farming operations. Bryon has worked as both a consultant and grower for large-scale hemp production. He has started and matured a seed company, specializing in adapting vegetable seeds to high altitude climates. Bryon has been involved in many agriculture business pursuits and is adept at implementing and maintaining vegetable production systems at scale.

Melody Taylor

Co-Founder, Secretary
Melody has a diverse background in Human Resources, Program Management, Fundraising, and Grant Writing. Melody has a heart-centered approach to recruitment, organizational development, and training, which cultivates environments where individuals, organizations and communities flourish. She has developed and managed fundraising programs and grant proposals that secure critical funding for nonprofit initiatives, while building lasting relationships with donors, sponsors, and stakeholders. Her approach of blending research, strategy, and compelling narratives ensure that every proposal is not just a request for funds, but a vision for a better future.

Buddy Frank

Buddy has an educational background in business, law, and leadership training, and has used these skills to establish a flourishing, multi-decade bodywork practice. Buddy has experience creating and managing professional organizations, having founded and operated an educational non-profit, a professional membership organization, and a community charity association.
